عروس الحرب قصة ثلاثين عاما من عمر امرأة \"مريم\"، تروي فيها أحداث حياتها مسلطة الضوء على دور الحرب خلال هذه الأعوام. الرواية تحمل أحداثا واقعية حصلت بالفعل، تبدأ الحرب دورها في حياة الأم \"حليمة\" التي تعيش قسوة أيام الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية، تتغير ظروف حياة أسرة مريم نتيجة الحرب ويتبدل مكان عيشهم تباعا بين طهران وبيروت، حيث تقدم الرواية وصفا جغرافيا إجتماعيا ثقافيا لكلا البلدين، ومع نمو الطفلة \"مريم\" تتراكم تجاربها النفسية والإجتماعية كما خبراتها العاطفية حيث تأخذ الأحداث منحى سرديا مبتبطا لسايكولوجيا المرأة التي بدأت تتعرف إلى ملامح الحرب والحب معا بالتزامن مع حنين لا متناه نتيجة إشكالية الإنتماء التي عاشتها ولاتزال.
