الرواية صدرت كحلقات مسلسلة على الإنترنت، بلغات عدة منها الفارسية والهولندية، وقد اختار أمير وخليل النشر بالاسم الأول لكل منهما لأسباب سياسية، ولحداثة النشر عن واقعة مستوحاة من تظاهرات 2009 في إيران، حيث انطلقت فردوس الزهراء إلكترونياً في 2010، رغم التأكيد على أنها قصة \"خيالية\"، (الموضح في الموقع)، وكذلك التقديم الذي كتباه، الكاتب والرسام، تحت عنوان \"عن الأصول\"، حيث يؤكدان أن \"المتظاهر الذي اختفى في سراديب الجمهورية الإسلامية شخصية خيالية، وحراس السردايب ليسوا سوى رسوم تنبع من قلم الفنان. أستاذ التاريخ الكبير (ابن خلدون) كان سيريدك أن تنظر أعمق، أن تطرح أسئلتك أنت وأن تراجع ما لديك من معطيات، كان ليحثك على الرجوع إلى أصول الجمهورية الإسلامية لقراءة وثائقها التأسيسية، كان ليحضك على مقارنة المصادر والحالات لترى إن كان لمهدي وجود حقيقي\"
