هذا الكتاب روى وما أن جلست حتى انسالت من عينيها دموع حارة. فسألتها : ماذا بك؟ لم أعتدك تبكين؟! اسأل الله ألا يكون شرا. فاجابتني : إنها «خالتي ».. أكلت أذني ابنها-زوجي-بالقيل والقال، وحرضته علي.. فلا شيء الآن النكد والغضب لأقل الأسباب-روت إحداهن : جاءت إلى إحدى قريباتي في زيارة الخالة، أو الحماة، أو العمة، والكنة مصطلحات تخفي وراءها تاريخا طويلا، في مجتمعاتنا العربية، وتحمل كثيرا من القصص الطريفة، والشائكة في حياة كثير من الأزواج. أن الزواج هو الذي يجعل المجتمعات تسلم من الانحلال الخلقي وبه يأمن الأفراد من التفسخ الاجتماعي ؛ إلا أن هذه العلاقة السامية يعتريها الوهن وتكتنفها المشكلات بين الحين والآخر. بعض هذا المشكلات تجد له حلا سريعا، وبعضه يمر كزوبعة في فنجان.. لكن بعضه الآخر لا يصلح ومع معه سوى الطلاق.
