تمثل هذه المسرحية أغمق رؤية للشر وأنضجها عند شكسبير وبالإمكان إيجاز المسرحية كلها بأنها طرح الهدم مع الخلق وهي النصر على الشر، وبالإضافة إلى ذلك فهي صورة معركة خاصة في حرب كونية شاملة، وأما ساحة المعركة فكانت روحي مكبث وزوجته. ومن خلال رؤية أخرى يمكن القول بأن المسرحية تدور حول فكرة اللعنة التي تحل ببطلة، ولكي يقوم شكسبير صورة مقنعة للغة ومقابليها، كان عليه أن يصف ويخلق الخير الذي ضحى به مكبث.
