Overview
في هذه الرحلة يجد أن الصفدي أورد فيها مئة وستة وستين مقطوعة شعرية، وهي متفاوتة في عدد أبياتها، وبعضها قصائد مطولة كالتي أنشأها عند الروضة بالحرم النبوي، وكذا التي أنشدها عن القبر النبوي ؛ قد استهل مقدمة الرحلة بذكر محاولته الأولى للسفر إلى الحج سنة 732 هـ.، لكنه لم يقدر له ذلك، ثم تيسر له الأمر في سنة 755 هـ.، فخرج في عاشر شوال منها من قبة يلبغا بدمشق ثم رحل إلى الكسوة فالصنمين وهلم جرا. وفي كل مرحلة يذكر ما وجد فيها من الأسواق والأطعمة والنباتات، وحال مناخها كما في «وادي النار»، وما جرى لهم فيها، وما شاهده من أجساد من ماتوا في الطريق بسبب الجوع والمرض ونحوه.
