يطبع هذا الكتاب مرة ثانية بعد انقضاء 36 سنة على إصداره الأول عشية إنفجار حروب لبنان المتسلسلة وهو تناول في ضوء تاريخ القرن التاسع عشر وحوداثه السياسية العسكرية والاجتماعية البارزة إستشراء المنازعات والعلاقات بين الجماعات الأهلية (المذهبية والمحلية والعصبية العائلية) على نظام أو بنيان طائفي متماسك وعلى خلاف رأي غالب عشية 1975 انتهى الكتاب إلى طائفية الجماعات الأهلية اللبنانية واستطرادا العربية ليست انبعاثا مصطنعا أو طبيعيا لعصبيات الجماعات القديمة والمزمنة.
