تبدو الحياة بتفاصيلها المختلفة وكأنها لغز صعب التفسير، لكن لغز الألغاز يبقى متمركزا في الدماغ البشري. إذ يبقى مركز الصعوبات على مختلف أنواعها. كيف تتكون المعرفة ضمن خلاياه وتركيباته ؟ كيف تبنى المفاهيم والإدراكات ؟ كيف يتكون الذكاء عند الطفل ؟ كيف يعي ويدرك، ويفكر ويتذكر ويقدر ويتصرف ويختزل المعلومات العديدة المتراكمة عبر الأيام ؟. ، تلك أمور مهمة حاول جان بياجه أن يضع إجابات عليها.. ولا ننكر حقيقة مهمة هي أن بياجه مفكر صعب فقد قضى كل حياته للإجابة على سؤال «كيف تنمو المعارف ؟» مما دفعه للتساؤل كيف تولد المعارف وما هي وسائلها ؟ وكيف تتكون ؟ وقد حاولنا تتبع طريقته العلمية من حدسه الأول حتى استنتاجاته النهائية. وبذلك يحاول الكتاب التطرق إلى كل ما يجب معرفته عند بياجه ونأمل أن نكون قد حققنا ذلك. علما بأن بياجه يمكن فهمه أكثر انطلاقا من النواحي السيكولوجية والتربوية. هذا ما حاولنا الاهتمام به ولم نغب عن تحقيق مثل هذا الهدف.
