علم النفس من العلوم المحببة إلى كل إنسان، والواقع أن كل فرد منا يحمل في نفسه معمله الخاص الذي يستطيع به أن يتأمل ما يجري في نفسه ويقارنه بما يجري في نفوس الغير بما يلاحظه من سلوكهم، وأن يطابق بين إحساساته وبين الآراء والتفسيرات العلمية التي يصادفها. ومن ثم يمكن القول أن علم النفس بالرغم من أنه علم حديث في صورته التي نعرفها الآن إلا أن بذوره متأصلة وموجودة منذ وجد الإنسان مهما كان جنسه أو أصله. وتهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى تقديم المعرفة الأساسية لدارسي علم النفس وبناء حسهم النفسي حتى يتمكنوا من ترشيد علاقاتهم مع أنفسهم ومع الآخرين، وأيضا من الاستفادة من منجزات هذا العلم في مواقع عملهم مستقبلا.
