هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا يضم الفضائل الدينية التي اختص رسولنا الهادي البشير صلى الله عليه وسلم العرب بها على سواهم، كذكره مثلا أن قوم كذا من أهل الجنة، أو من أهل الفضل والتقوى، أو أن يدعو الرسول الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم لقبيلة معينة من القبائل بغفران الذنوب وستر العيوب. وهو بشكل عام يحتوي على دعوة واضحة وصريحة وجهها العلامة ابن حجر الهيتمي إلى كل عربي لكي يعرف مجد أجداده، وعلو منزلتهم حتى يتسنى له أن يأخذ بزاد من هذا الماضي ليقوى به على حاضره ومستقبله.
