صفحات هذا الكتاب هي روضى مليء بشتى الأخبار والحكايات من التاريخ البعيد والقريب وفيها ما يروق الزوي العقول والعلم والأدب، وفيه إشارات إلى أهمية العلاقات الإنسانية والى أهمية التوافق بين الزوج والزوجة، كما أن فيه حض على الاعتناء بأمور المرأة، من تعليم وتثقيف، وتدبير، وقد حرصت المؤلفة على تقديم معلومات إحصائية بفرض تعليمي تربوي غير مباشر، كما تشير إلى أن الفوارق الطبيعة والاجتماعية، تزول مع التربية والتعليم، فالعلم أولى بالاحترام من كل الاعتبارات الأخرى. وفي الكتاب الكثير من ذك الفلاسفة والكلمات الذين اهتموا بالمرأة وأكرموها وشعروا فيها بكيانها وبضرورة نيلها لحقوقها الإنسانية كافة. وقد جاء الكتاب محققاً حيث قام المحقق بضبط النص وبتصويب بعض الألفاظ والعبارات، مع ضبط التواريخ التي أوردتها المؤلفة دون تحديد ما إذا كانت ميلادية أم هجرية، أما الشخصيات التي ترجمت لها المؤلفة فقد قام المحقق بترتيبها ترتيباً ألفبائياً.
