يتناول كتاب (غادة السمان الحب والحرب دراسة في علم الاجتماع الأدبي) والذي قام بتأليفه د. إلهام غالي، موضوع (الأدب) الكتاب بحث يتناول إشكالية الحرب في أدب كاتبة عربية هي غادة السمان، وهي روائية ولدت بدمشق، وكانت طفاة حين اشتعلت الحرب الأولى في فلسطين عام 1948، ولم تكن تجاوزت سن المراهقة حين اشتعلت حرب السويس عام 1956. ثم توال الحروب في حياة جيلها: 1967 و 1973 و 1975. حروب من كل نوع، حروب وطنية وحروب أهلية وحروب طائفية. وكان من الطبيعي أن تصبح \"الحروب\" محورا رئيسيا في الأدب العربي المعاصر، وخاصة لدى الكتاب الفلسطينيين والسوريين والأردنيين واللبنانيين والمصريين، حيث دارت المعارك في بلادهم أو على حدودها. فكان الأدب السوري الحديث في الشعر والرواية والمسرح والقصة القصيرة حافلا بمعاناة الحروب.
