هو الكتاب الأول من سلسلة عظماؤنا أبو فراس الحمداني أوضح عكيدي أنه قام بإعداد وتقديم هذا الكتاب للتعريف بالأسرة الحمدانية العربية العريقة التي سكنت وادي الفرات السوري وحاربت البيزنطيين وميزها اهتمامها بالأدب ومنهم الفارس الشاعر أبو فراس الحمداني الذي عاش في الفترة 932 / 968 م. واحتضنه ورباه ابن عمه سيف الدولة الحمداني وادخله ميادين الفروسية والآدب فكان الفارس القوي والشاعر الكبير الذي اختارته الأقدار ليكون في مصاف العظماء وهو في عمر الشباب.
