Overview
لا يخفى الأديب الكبير توفيق الحكيم إعجابه بالحمير وبعالم الحمير .. وهو يهرب من الرقابة الأمنية بان يتحدث حديثه على فم الحمير، بل إنه في هذه المسرحية يتخيل أنه جالس على مكتبه مستغرق في التأمل والتفكير ويدخل عليه حمار ويقدم نفسه له بأنه حمار الحكيم القديم، وقد كان الحكيم فعلا تخلف عن الكتابة عن الحمير، وكان آخر ما كتبه رواية حمار الحكيم عام 1940 م ولكن يأتي هذا بعد ربع قرن من الزمان 1975 م ويعتب الحمار على الحكيم أنه يتجاهله دائما ويحتقره، ولكن هذا لا يمنع من كونه موجودا يفكر أنا أفكر اذن انا موجود، ولكن الحمار يقول أنا موجود إذن أنا أفكر ويستأذن الحمار في الجلوس ويقول للحكيم ساعرض عليك بعض ما أعرف عنك وعن غيرك من الحمير.
