يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن حياة مارتن لوثر كينج ولد في 15 يناير عام 1929، تم اغتياله في 4 أبريل 1968 كان زعيما أمريكيا من أصول إفريقية وناشط سياسي إنساني من المطالبين بإنهاء التمييز العنصري ضد السود في عام 1964 م حصل على جائزة نوبل للسلام وكان أصغر من يحوز عليها، واغتيل في الرابع من نيسان / أبريل عام 1968 اعتبر مارتن لوثر كنغ من أهم الشخصيات التي ناضلت في سبيل الحرية وحقوق الإنسان، وأسس لوثر زعامة المسيحية الجنوبية وهي حركة هدفت إلى الحصول على الحقوق المدنية للأفارقة الأمريكيين في المساواة وراح ضحية قضيته.
