يقدم الكاتب والباحث والناشط التونسي المعروف \"توفيق المديني\" في كتابه هذا قراءة نقدية مغايرة في المشهد التونسي المعاصر يبحث فيها أكثر فأكثر في المفاعيل التي كان لها الدور الحاسم في التغيير والتي اتخذت مشهدا مفصليا تمثل، بمغادرة الرئيس التونسي، زين العابدين بن علي نهائيا سدة الحكم، وبروز مرحلة جديدة، يفترض أن تكون مغايرة في تاريخ تونس المعاصر. هي ثورة شعبية بامتياز يصفها الكاتب بأنها ثورة مدنية لا عسكرية ولا أيديولوجية بالمعايير التي نعرفها عمليا ونظريا، ولا إسلامية أيضا، بل هى ثورة شعبية استطاعت الإطاحة بنظام حكم بوليسي يعد من أعتى الديكتاتورات الأمنية العربية.
