إيليا أبو ماضي هو أحد أبرز الشعراء العرب في القرن العشرين كما أنه أحد أبرز شعراء المهجر. هاجر (إيليا أبو ماضي) إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية عله يجد الحرية والعدالة والغنى فيها، وهناك عمل في البداية في التجارة ثم تفرغ للعمل الأدبي الذي كان يميل إليه منذ ضغره.حرر وأصدر (إيليا أبو ماضي) عددا من الصحف والمجلات، وأسس مجلة (السمير) اليومية في نيويورك كما أنه أصدر ثلاثة دواوين (الجداول) (الخمائل) (ديوان إيليا أبو ماضي) أحد أبرز أعضاء الرابطة القلمية بالإضافة إلى (جبران خليل جبران ) و(ميخائيل نعيمة) وغيرهم.نهل شاعرنا من مصادر الشرق والغرب ففي شعره شكوك المعري ولهو أبي نواس فيه تجديد عباقرة الغرب إلا إن كل ذلك كان يضيع في اتساع ذاته وأصالته، وكونه شاعر فكرة يبني القصيدة حول فكرة يريد إيصالها للمتلقي ... سيجد القارئ في هذا الكتاب باقة من أجمل قصائد (إيليا أبو ماضي) ودراسة عن حياته وأدبه.
