يتناول هذا الكتاب موقف الدولة العثمانية من القوى السياسية المتصارعة وسط نجد وأثر هذا الصراع سياسيا وثقافيا واقتصاديا واجتماعيا على المنطقة. كما يحاول المؤلف قراءة دور تلك القوى ومدى تأثيرها مع بيان المواقف التي اتخذتها في كل مرحلة وأسباب تبدل مواقفها تبعا لمقتضيات أحوال كل فترة، وأخيرا هذه الدراسة تعد محاولة لفهم وتحليل موقف الدولة العثمانية من أطراف الصراع وكيف كان تعاطيها مع الأحداث وفق ما تراه مناسبا لها تبعا لسياستها التي تشكلها علاقاتها بالقوى العالمية المحيطة بالجزيرة العربية.
