قصة حب منغمسة في تاريخ فلسطين وثقافتها، وهي مستوحاة من الأحداث المضطربة التي شهدتها منطقة الشرق الأوسط وكذلك تاريخ أسرة المؤلفة ليلاس طه، اضطرت ليلاس طه التي ولدت في الكويت لأب فلسطيني وأم سورية، إلى مغادرة البلاد إثر تعرضها لغزو العراق في عام 1990. وبالنظر إلى أزمة اللاجئين الحالية التى فجرتها الأزمة الجارية فى سوريا، فقد اكتسبت حكايات عمر وناديا أهمية فائقة وذلك بتجسيدها للصعوبات المشتركة التى يعانيها اللاجئون وإضفائها الطابع الإنساني على ضحايا الاضطرابات السياسية والعنف.
