إذا كان سيوران يرسم قدرا وحيدا للثورة، فإن الفيتوري في كتابه «ليبيا في مهب الربيع العربي» الذي جمع فيه عدة مقالات واكبت مراحل التغيير في ليبيا منذ فبراير 2011، يجعل للثورة أقدارا عدة، بعضها خارج السيطرة، وبعضها من صنع الوعي الذي قامت في ظله رغبة التغيير، ومثلما في روايته، وجل كتاباته النثرية، الأدبية، كان الفيتوري وما زال مشغولا بالتنقيب في طبقات الوعي التي تشكل عبرها هذا الكيان، وبالبحث عن تعريف لمحطاته التاريخية، وتدافع محتواه البشري الشبيه بحركة الرمال في صحرائه التي تتغير ملامحها يوميا أو ساعة بساعة، كان يلاحق عبر تفسير حكايات التاريخ وتقلبات الجغرافيا هوية هذا الكيان الذي كثيرا ما خذله التاريخ بالنسيان، وخذلته الجغرافيا بالتصحر.
