عرفت السنوات الأخيرة صعودا واضحا لأحزاب و(تمثيلات) التيار اليميني، ما بين أحزاب اليمين العنصري، واليمين الفاشي، واليمين الراديكالي، ليس فقط في دول أوروبا بألمانيا، وفرنسا، وهولندا، بل ودول شرق أوروبا، وبعض بلدان أوروبا الشمالية، وانعكس ذلك على النتائج الأولية لبعض الاستحقاقات الانتخابية التي جرت على مستوى معظم دول الاتحاد الأوروبي (مثل : السويد والمملكة المتحدة وفرنسا والنمسا وهولندا وسويسرا والدنمارك)، وكلل هذا الصعود بوصول دونالد ترمب إلى رئاسة أكبر الدول وأهمها سياسيا وعسكريا واقتصاديا في العالم؛ وهي الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
