هذا الكتاب النفيس ليس سيرة لمؤلفه فحسب بل تجربة إنسانية عصامية علمية عملية وتأريخ للحياة الاجتماعية والمعيشية وللعادات والتقاليد في محافظة الزلفي حيث ولد ونشأ الكاتب إلى نيله الابتدائية ثم انتقل إلى الرياض ودرس في المدرسة التذكارية ثم في مدرسة أخرى تقع على يمين المتجه شمالا على شارع الوزير مقابل مسجد (الحسي) وأكمل فيها المتوسطة ثم واصل الثانوية بالمدرسة الليلية لأنه التحق بوظيفة إدارية في وزارة الصحة بعد نيله الكفاءة لحاجته الماسة إلى المال.
