ترتبط إشكاليّة الحكي والقصّ ارتباطاً وثيقاً بآليّة التشكيل الاصطلاحيّ لفنّ القصّة القصيرة في سياق مركزيّ من سياقاته، فالحكاية بمرجعيتها الفطريّة الأوّليّة العفويّة عنصر أصيل من عناصر التشكيل القصصيّ لا يمكن تنحيته مهما بالغت القصة في توغّلها التجريبيّ الحداثيّ، لأنّه من دون حكاية تشكّل عصب البناء السرديّ القصصيّ تفقد القصّة أهمّ عنصر جذب تفاعليّ لها في منطقة القراءة، غير أنّ الحكاية على الرغم من ذلك ليست العنصر التشكيليّ الوحيد والحاسم في بناء القصة، فثمّة عناصر أخرى يمكن أن يتوقّف عليها نجاح القصة أو إخفاقها، تسهم في تعميق دور الحكاية وتأخذها إلى تحقيق مصير فنيّ عالٍ تجعل منها فنّاً مكتملاً قادراً على الإبهار والتأثير والحضور .
