Overview
قامت الدولة الطولونية وهي إحدى الدول المستقلة عن الدولة العباسية، وامتدت فترة حكمها في الفترة من (254-292 هـ/ 868 -905 م). وتمثل الدولة الطولونية أول تجربة حكم محلي تحكم فيه أسرة أو دولة حكما مستقلا عن حكومة الخلافة المركزية، وقد كان مؤسس هذه الأسرة أحمد بن طولون[2] جنديا تركيا، وكان والده أحد الموالي الذين أهداهم ملك بُخارَى للخليفة العباسي المأمون، وقد جاء إلى مصر نائبا للحاكم العباسي فيها، لكنه استأثر بالحكم، ثم بسط سلطانه على الشام، وكان العباسيون مشغولين بمقاومة ثورة الزنج. وحكم بعد أحمد بن طولون ابنه خمارويه الذي عقد معه الخليفة العباسي المعتضد اتفاقا يقضي بمنحه هو وورثته الحكم في مصر والشام لمدة ثلاثين عاما على أن يؤدي للخليفة مبلغا سنويا مقداره ثلاثمائة ألف دينار.
