يأتي (جلد ممزق على الحدود) بمقاربة من وجهة نظر المعايشة والخبرة اليومية بين النازحين وأبناء القرى والمدن الصغيرة. بكتابة سردية قائمة على التوثيق والاستقصاء يظهر المؤلف باسمه ولقبه الحقيقيين في كل فصول الكتاب ؛ حيث يقوم بتتبع خطى ومسارات الترحال لمهاجرين من أفريقيا وشرق أوروبا والصين في قريته الأم والقرى المجاورة لها في قطلونية. لا يتعلق الأمر بالتعاطف مع المهاجرين ولا بنظرة إنسانية قائمة على الشفقة والتعاطف، وإنما يذكر بوضوح وفي أكثر من موضع أن التغيرات التي يتعرض لها العالم قد تجعل الكاتب ومواطنيه هم من يحملون حقائبهم ليهيموا في بلدان أخرى وينامون في العراء. رغم هذا لا توجد تحليلات سياسية أو اقتصادية عميقة، فقط إشارات لما يحدث، إشارات لما يراه الجميع ويعيشون فيه، من أزمات اقتصادية وتغيرات بنى ونظم الإنتاج.
