كانت فكرة إعداد هذا الكتاب في بادئ الأمر عبارة عن دليل للمؤلفين الأمازيغ الليبيين القدامى والمعاصرين من خلال سيرهم الذاتية ومجالات تأليفهم ومؤلفاتهم سواء كان للمؤلف كتاب واحد أو عدد من الكتب وبعد أن تمكنت من حصر المؤلفين القدامى والمعاصرين منذ الفتح الأسلامي وحتى شهر أغسطس سنة 2014 م حسب الجهد المتواضع تبين لي إضافة مواضيع أخرى تتعلق بالحياة العلمية والثقافية لسكان جبل نفوسة من القرن الثاني الهجري وحتى القرن العاشر الهجري وفق تقسيمات سيتم توضيحها في نهاية هذه المقدمة مع معلومات مفصلة لعدد من أبرز المدن الأمازيغية في ليبيا.
