كتاب مذكرات نوبار باشا ضمت واحدا وأربعين فصلا، إضافة إلى مقدمة وملاحظات كتبها ميريت بطرس غالي وغطت المذكرات الفترة من 1842 حتى 1879 وهي الفترة التي بدأت بقدومه إلى مصر حتى عزل الخديوي إسماعيل له وكتبت بين نوفمبر (تشرين الثاني) 1890 ومايو (أيار) 1894 ولم يذكر نوبار في مذكراته شيئا عن حياته الخاصة، كما لم يتعرض بشيء لفترتي توليه الوزارة الثانية في يناير (كانون الثاني) 1884 ويونيو (حزيران) 1888 والثالثة في أبريل (نيسان) 1894 وخصص نوبار باشا في شهادته على عصره ستة فصول لوالي مصر محمد علي وابنه إبراهيم وأربعة لعباس وستة لسعيد، بينما خص الخديوي إسماعيل بـ25 فصلا وهي الفترة الأكبر التي كان لنوبار باشا فيها دورا كبيرا في المشروع النهضوي والتأثير فيما يدور من أحداث.
