هذا الكتاب استمرار لمحاولاتنا المتواصلة التي تحولت إلى مشروع مترابط لكشف نسق ديانة العرب قبل الإسلام وفك مغاليقها وهو يدخل إلى هذه الديانة من مدخل جديد آخر ألا وهو الألقاب فيمسك بألقاب عدد من الشخصيات إضافة إلى ألقاب بعض القبائل ويحاول أن يكشف معناها الديني والحق أن ذاكرة المجتمعات الشفاهية ذاكرة أسطورية أكثر منها ذاكرة تاريخية فهي تنسى بسرعة نسبية الأحداث الواقعية أو قل تسمح لها بالبقاء أجيالا قليلة ثم تمحوها لتبقى الأحداث الأسطورية فالأحداث الأسطورية هي الحاضر وهي التاريخ الحق أي أنها ليست ذكريات بل حياة معيشة وهذا يختلف بالطبع عن الذاكرة الفردية فالذاكرة الفردية بحاجة إلى الذكريات الواقعية لأنها تجربتها ومعرفتها بالواقع.
