تتناول الكاتبة أحداث الرواية من خلف حواجز الزمان لتفتح نافذة تطل بها على الماضي. فتجذب ذلك الماضي وتطبعه على فيلم لتصوره صورا ومرئيات تنساب لخيال القارئ مشاهدا ومستمتعا وينتقل بخياله إلى المغرب الماضي يجول في ساحاته وأزقته، يسمع أحاديث العابرين ويدق أبواب قصوره وأبوابه لتفتح له ويستبين عراقة البنيان وزخارفه وفنونه، ويصغي إلى الأحاديث ليقف على العادات والتقاليد التي كانت تحكم المجتمع المغربي بصورة عامة ونساؤه خاصة لتشكل المحور الذي تدور حوله حكاية نساء على أجنحة الحلم.
