هذا المعجم يهدف إلى إثبات ما في اللهجة اليمنية من أصالة وعراقة عن طريق ما تحويه من مفردات لم توردها القواميس ولا اهتم بها اللغويون لسبب ما فإنه لم يعتن بالمفردات العربية القاموسية التي ترد على ألسنة الناس في اليمن كما يبرز هذا المعجم الدلالات الخاصة لبعض المفردات العربية في اللهجة اليمنية وهي دلالات لا توجد في القواميس ولها خصوصية دلالة لا خصوصية صيغة وقد تم تدوين المفردات في هذا المعجم على أساس جذورها الثلاثي المجرد من الزيادات.
