Overview
توزعت نصوص الزنادقة الشعرية على كتب متناثرة ولم يضمها كتاب بعينه، أما نصوصهم النثرية فقد أتلفت تماما وأصابها ما أصاب أصحابها من القتل والحرق والتشريد ككتب ابن الراوندي وغيره، ولم يبق منها سوى شذور متناثرة في الكتب التي كتبت للرد عليها وتفنيدها، وكان أول من بذل جهدا لجمع تلك النصوص أو بقاياها هو المرحوم عبد الرحمن بدوي في كتابه الرائد من تاريخ الإلحاد في الإسلام. أما النصوص الشعرية فقد بقيت عرضة للحذف والبتر والتغييب مع كل طبعة جديدة تطبع بها كتب التراث، حتى خشيت أن يأتي اليوم الذي لا نجد فيه سطرا واحدا منها أو شاهدا شعريا يفصح عن أفكارهم للأجيال القادمة.
