يتحدث المؤلف في هذا الكتاب ويقول بدأت الكتاب بتعريف علم الصرف وأهميته في حياتنا فبدأت بالميزان الصرفي وطريقة وزن الكلمات ثم توكيد الأفعال بالنون وانتقلت إلى المجرد والمزيد من الأسماء والأفعال وتحولت بعد ذلك إلى الاسم الجامد والمشتق وتابعت البحث في المصادر وأنواعها والمشتقات وأقسامها ثم بينت الأسماء المقصورة والمنقوصة والممدودة وعرجت على الجموع مع التركيز على جمع التكسير وانتقلت بعد ذلك إلى التصغير والنسب والإعلال والإبدال والإدغام مع بيان قواعدها وحكم كل واحد منها مع توضيح كل ذلك بالتمرينات التي تتصل بالمبحث وتدريبات تهم الدارس مع ربط بين الكتابين كتاب النحو وكتاب الصرف.
