2001
Consumer bargaining is a global phenomenon operating, essentially, in every product category since time immemorial. With the recognition of exchange as central to marketing, it should have been one of the most developed areas of research but many scholars lacked interest in it. This has created a paucity of managerial implications. Over the last decade, consumer bargaining has flourished in the U.S. and firms have started not only coping with it but also encouraging it. In this work, we offer a framework of consumer bargaining, discuss its drivers of growth, offer responsive marketing strategies and areas for future research.

2005
This research is designed to study the individualism-collectivism (I/C) dimension among Taiwanese managers and explores their decision style tendencies. The objectives are to determine whether or not there are differences among Taiwanese managers on I/C measures and to investigate the relationships between decision styles and I/C. This research used a questionnaire which was comprised of three sections. These are: 1. basic profile of the firm, 2. decision styles, and 3. I/C measures. The results show that Taiwanese preferred consultative and participative styles and that the least preferred styles were pseudo-consultative and delegative. Participants considered consultative style as the most practiced and effective followed by participative. The results show that there were no significant differences across sectors of enterprise. Furthermore, male participants scored higher than females on collectivism belief. Likewise older participants scored significantly higher than younger participants on both work collectivism and collectivism belief.
