Analytic Number Theory and Moments of the Riemann Zeta Function
In the first half of this thesis integer and non-integer moments of the Riemann zeta function are reviewed unconditionally and conditionally on the Riemann Hypothesis. In the second half the unconditional strict lower bounds on the sixth and eighth moments of the Riemann zeta function are improved, in addition to an unconditional strict lower bound on the sixth moment of the derivative of the Riemann zeta function. The result on the sixth moment follows an application of the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality to bound the sixth moment in terms of twists of second and fourth moments of the Riemann zeta function. The technique of Soundararajan (1995) is applied for the Dirichlet polynomial by which the Riemann zeta function is twisted and we apply results of Bui and Milnovich (2018), Conrey and Ghosh (1989), Young (2010), Soundararajan (1995) and Bui and Hall (2023) to resolve the lower order twists that result. The sixth moment of the derivative of the Riemann zeta function is found by differentiating shifted results for each of the integrals involved in the determination of the sixth moment. The eighth moment is determined by an application of Holders inequality, allowing a generalisation of the result on the sixth moment. The Dirichlet polynomial of Soundararajan is applied again and the same techniques occurring in the sixth moment are adapted for the higher order twists of second and fourth moments that result. The unconditional lower bound on the sixth moment is improved from the previous result of Soundararajan stating that M3(T) >= 20.26c3T(log T)9 to M3(T) >= 29.54c3T(log T)9 . We show an unconditional lower bound on the sixth moment of the derivative of M'3(T) >= 0.419c3T(log T)15 and an unconditional lower bound on the eighth moment of M4(T) >= 10, 380T c4(log T)16.
The Robert Shaw Reader
Robert Shaw is considered to be the most influential choral conductor in American history. This is the first collection of his letters and notes about music ever published-at another time, it is the book Shaw would have written himself. The letters are an invigorating mix of music history and analysis, philosophy, inspiration, and practical advice. Shaw examines technique, but only as a means to an end-he moves beyond that, delving into the essence of what music is and what it has to say to us. The heart of the book is composed of Shaw's previously unpublished notes on fifteen major choral works, ranging from Bach's B Minor Mass to Stravinsky'sSymphony of Psalms.Often inspiring and sometime hilarious, these writings reveal the full breadth of Shaw's knowledge, intensity, and humor.

Winner, 2010 NZSA Jessie Mackay Award for Best First Book of Poetry The judging panel found Marsh's collection exhilarating: \"The poems are sensuous but strong, using lush imagery and clear rhythms and repetitions to power them forward.\"   Touching on the poet's community, ancestry, influences, and history, this debut collection of poetry lives up to the meaning behind the artist's name—\"writer of tales.\" The featured verse is sensuous but strong, using lush imagery, clear rhythms, and repetitions to power it forward. With a unique Pacific lyricism, this compendium is structured in three sections that showcase different strengths, from personal poems and political and historical verse to those already destined to become classics. Fighting against historical injustices and exploring the ideas of identity and story—especially those associated with the afakasi or half-caste experience in a postcolonial world—this compilation will gratify fans of poetry everywhere.
THE ROLE OF AMBIGUITY in Stop-Work Authority
The question was ambiguous to begin with, and a lot of blanks need to be filled in to answer questions, such as: *Have the manager and employee had a previous conversation where these expectations were set? *Did the employee just start a new job and meet the manager for the first time on a Friday afternoon (and, if so, how much information was the person overloaded with)? *Are there other individuals, systems or instructions that can offer guidance to the employee? Research on Ambiguity While ambiguity can be a positive condition for creative breakthroughs in art, science and business, it is an adverse state in day-to-day work life, and a wide body of research reflects this. [...]it appears several times under different terms, including \"role ambiguity\" and \"uncertainty,\" as well as the ambiguity that potentially stems from \"conflicting demands.\" Social pressures may also create ambiguity that has a dampening effect on workers' willingness to exercise their stop-work authority.
Which industrial policy does Europe need?
One lesson of the Great Recession has been that countries with higher shares of industry in their GDP seemed to be less affected by the crisis. Consequently, the call for an industrial renaissance has become stronger. Industrial policy has now become a top priority in countries where it was not explicitly considered in the past. A strong EU-wide industrial policy is expected to foster growth and job creation. However, cultivating industrial development is a complex challenge. This Forum addresses the steps that need to be taken to create a new European industrial policy. What are the structural challenges that need to be addressed? What are the instruments of the EU's industrial policy? And should the EU be engaged in picking winners, or is the market better at making such judgements?
A NEW BLUEPRINT FOR THE FUTURE: A Framework for 12 Dimensions of Safety Leadership
Despite technology, science, and academic endeavors as well as incredible time, effort and investments, safety professionals remain tasked with hazard identification and management, training, regulatory compliance, and developing programs that yield personal and financial benefits for the organizations they serve. Considerable advancements in road construction, collision attenuation, telematics, collision avoidance systems, driver monitoring and other aspects have improved fleet safety (Cicchino, 2025), yet those who drive for a living continue to experience the highest fatality rates. According to Johnsen, \"O'Neill's transformative approach to safety culture at Alcoa is a compelling example of how prioritizing safety can lead to profound organizational change and success.\" Management, Focusing on the Former The authors see the safety leader's role as most critical when analyzing 2025 and beyond-not a focus on regulatory compliance, which will be a natural outcome of the new blueprint, and not solely vested with technology adoption, although technology will be leveraged.
