Optimization of Motor Rotor Punch Wear Parameters Based on Response Surface Method
2024
To reduce the wear of the motor rotor punching punch and ensure the efficiency is the highest in actual production, the finite element analysis software Deform-3Dv11 is used to simulate the punch wear based on the Archard model theory. With punch wear as the response target and punch speed, punch clearance, and punch edge fillet as the main factors, 17 groups of response surface Box–Behnken test designs are established, as well as a quadratic polynomial regression model between the main factors and the response. The results revealed that: the influence of various parameters on punch wear is in the order of punch edge fillet C > punch clearance B > punch speed A; the order of the interactive influence of various factors is as follows: punch speed and punch edge fillet AC > punch speed and punch clearance AB > punch clearance and punch edge fillet BC. The optimal blanking process combination obtained by using Design-Expert13 software is as follows: blanking speed 50 mm/s, blanking clearance 0.036 mm, and die cutting edge rounded corner 0.076 mm; the predicted response surface value is 6.95 × 10−12 mm. Through simulation verification, the actual optimized simulation value is 6.93 × 10−12 mm, with an absolute relative error of 2.5% for the predicted response value. Moreover, the optimized simulation value is reduced by 30.4% compared to the one before optimization, effectively reducing the punch wear of the motor rotor punching forming and providing a theoretical foundation for further wear optimization.

Gender differences in the association between hyperuricemia and diabetic kidney disease in community elderly patients
2015
To investigate gender differences of the associations between hyperuricemia and diabetic kidney disease (DKD) in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) based on electronic health records (EHR).
A total of 20,207 older diabetic patients (mean age 71±7years) were investigated based on the EHR from 2012 to 2013 in the Minhang District of Shanghai-China. The status of hyperuricemia, albuminuric DKD and the odds ratios of DKD relative to hyperuricemia were analyzed among 8541 men and 11,666 women.
The overall rate of hyperuricemia was 20.5% (males: 17.2%, females: 23.0%) and that of albuminuric DKD was 36.2% (males: 32.2%, female: 39.1%) in these diabetic patients. Hyperuricemia was independently associated with increased risk of reduced renal function and albuminuria (p<0.001) in both genders. After adjustment of traditional DKD risk factors, hyperuricemia had a stronger association with albuminuric DKD in males (OR 1.67, 95% CI: 1.48–1.88) than in females (OR 1.23, 95% CI: 1.12–1.35).
This study showed an independent association of hyperuricemia with albuminuric DKD that was stronger in elderly males for the first time in China based on EHR. The level of uric acid should be monitored and managed in older diabetic patients.

Anthracycline-induced arrhythmias in breast cancer therapy: A meta-analysis of single-arm trials
2024
As of 2020, breast cancer has emerged as the predominant cause of cancer incidence globally. Anthracycline-based chemotherapy serves as a crucial element in the treatment regimen for breast cancer. However, these anthracycline-based drugs are associated with cardiac toxicity. This study represents the first clinical quantitative analysis aimed at accurately determining the incidences of arrhythmia and abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) changes, thereby providing valuable data to bolster clinical drug usage and monitoring.
A systematic search was conducted across multiple databases including CNKI, VIP, Wanfang, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library. The incidence of combined arrhythmias in breast cancer patients and the associated heterogeneity were calculated using either a random effect model or a fixed effect model. Statistical analysis was performed using STATA16.
The study encompassed a total of 37 articles, which included 5705 breast cancer patients undergoing anthracycline treatment. Among these patients, 2257 developed arrhythmias. The meta-analysis revealed that the incidence of anthracycline-associated arrhythmias and abnormal ECG changes in breast cancer patients was 0.41 (0.37, 0.44). Subgroup analysis indicated that the incidence of ST-T segment change was 0.19 (0.15, 0.23), the incidence of conduction block was 0.04 (0.02, 0.05), the incidence of premature beats was 0.09 (0.07, 0.11), and the incidence of atrial fibrillation was 0.04 (0.00, 0.12). Additional results are presented in Table 3.
This pioneering study accurately assesses the incidence of arrhythmias in breast cancer patients treated with anthracyclines. The findings provide clinicians with valuable insights into understanding and managing the cardiac toxicity associated with such treatment. Moreover, this study lays the foundation for future research exploring the mechanisms underlying these arrhythmias and potential preventative strategies.

2001
The creation of this new entity will help solve one of the more vexing intelligence problems that plagues the U.S. government by allowing front- line workers unfettered, real-time access to the intelligence obtained by the FBI and the CIA. The FBI gathers intelligence and follows procedures designed to bring criminals to trial. The CIA gathers intelligence and follows procedures designed to protect its sources. The two cannot and should not be combined. The anticipation of these events, discussed in a variety of closed meetings, created a unique chicken-and-egg political problem. Law- enforcement officials, having foiled a variety of lesser terrorist threats, were understandably reluctant to publicize these threats, lest they inspire copycat actions. Intelligence officials were understandably reluctant to publicize anything they knew about threats, because of the fear that this would compromise their sources.

IL-8 is a novel prometastatic chemokine in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma that induces CXCR2-PI3K/AKT signaling upon CD97 activation
2023
Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is a rare but highly aggressive malignant tumor arising within the liver, with a 5-year survival rate of only 20–40% after surgery. The role of interleukin-8 (IL-8) in ICC progression remains elusive. A transcriptomic approach based on IL-8 stimulation first revealed significant upregulation of the prometastatic gene CD97 and key epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) factors E-cadherin and vimentin. Immunohistochemistry of 125 ICC tissues confirmed the positive correlation between IL-8 and CD97. Multivariable Cox regression indicated that they are both independent predictors of ICC prognosis. Mechanistically, IL-8 treatment induced CD97 expression at 50 and 100 ng/ml in QBC-939 and QBE cells, respectively. Moreover, the induction of cell migration and invasion upon IL-8 treatment was attenuated by CD97 RNA interference, and the expression of EMT-associated genes was dramatically inhibited. To determine whether CXCR1 or CXCR2 are downstream effectors of IL-8, siCXCR2 was applied and shown to significantly attenuate the oncogenic effects of IL-8 by inhibiting the phosphorylation of PI3K/AKT. Finally, the induction of CD97 expression by the PI3K pathway was verified by treatment with the inhibitor LY294002. In vivo, the significant tumor growth and lung metastasis effects induced by intraperitoneal injection of IL-8 were greatly inhibited by silencing CD97 in nude mice. Collectively, the study presents a novel mechanism of the IL-8-CXCR2-PI3K/AKT axis in regulating CD97 expression, which leads to ICC metastasis mainly through EMT. The study may provide alternatives for targeting the tumor microenvironment in metastatic ICC.

Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Silane Inserted CSH Nanostructure
2023
Herein, the toughening mechanism and effects of 3-(aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (3-APTES) intercalation in calcium–silicate–hydrate (CSH) structures were investigated through molecular dynamics simulations. CSH established a model using 11 Å-tobermorite to simulate the tensile properties, toughness, adsorption energy, average orientation displacement and radial distribution function of 3-APTES intercalation at different Ca/Si ratios under conditions of a CVFF force field, an NVT system, and 298 K temperature. Simulation results demonstrate that 3-APTES alters the fracture process of CSH and effectively enhances its tensile properties and toughness. The presence of 3-APTES molecules increases the energy required to destroy CSH, thereby increasing the adsorption energy of CSH crystals. Furthermore, 3-APTES molecules effectively increase the atom density within the CSH structure. As the Ca/Si ratio increases, Ca–O bond formation is enhanced, with noticeable aggregation occurring because of modification by 3-APTES within the CSH structure. This study found that 3-APTES organic compounds can effectively improve the tensile, toughness, adsorption and other properties of the CSH structure, and further improve the microstructure of CSH.

In this study, the surface properties of iron microparticles were modified for the manipulation of liquid droplets using atmospheric pressure plasma jets. These modified hydrophobic iron microparticles were prepared by synthesizing fluorinated silica nanocomposites on the surfaces of iron microparticles under atmospheric pressure plasma. The compositions of the silica nanocomposites were controlled by the deposition of hexamethyldisiloxane and fluoroalkylsilane precursors. The fluorinated silica nanocomposites were then used with iron microparticles to prepare magnetic liquid marbles. The contact angles of the iron microparticles and the fluorinated silica nanoparticle coating on the glass surface were both 154°, which indicated that the surfaces of these particles were superhydrophobic. Higher hexamethyldisiloxane precursor flow rates produced more silica nanocomposites and resulted in greater roughness and larger contact angles. Changes in surface roughness were characterized by atomic force microscopy. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed that C–F bonds were present on the modified glass surface. The presented approach allows rapid and highly efficient modification of uneven surfaces and can therefore be employed to render hydrophilic, superhydrophobic, and oleophilic surfaces. Moreover, the described hydrophobic iron microparticles can be used for the controlled magnetic manipulation of water droplets and oil–water separation.
