The research is focused on the job profile of a welder level for the field welding and operator level for the machining plane. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative model with the research subject of Penataran Angkatan Laut company Indonesia Surabaya, East Java. Data collection techniques used include interviews, documentation, and observation. The data is then analyzed using the percentage method-checking the validity of the data used triangulation of sources and techniques. This study's results indicate that the curriculum is a relevant category in the welding field with a 64.74% value and 91.67%, a very relevant category in machining.

The influence of work knowledge and industrial practice experience to learning motivation
2020
This study aimed to find out the influence of work knowledge and industrial practice experience to students' learning motivation. This study was an assosiative research with quantitative approach. The samples were decided by cluster random sampling technique. Closed-questionnaires were used to collecting the datas. Then by descriptive analysis and regression analyis technique the data were processed. The results showed there was no positive and significant influence between work knwoledge and learning motivation, shown by tcount=0, 081 < ttable=2, 069 with regression equation Y = 45, 926-0, 010X1. There was no positive and significant influence between students' industrial practice experience and learning motivation shown by tcount=1, 056 < ttable=2, 069 with regression equation Y = 37, 464+0, 151X2. The world of work knwoledge and industrial practice experience also did not influence positively dan signficantly to students' learning moivation simultaneously, shown by Fcount=0, 618 < Ftable=3, 39 and the regression equation Y = 38, 171-0, 080X1+0, 191X2.

Analysis of quality student practice results in shielded metal arc welding
2020
This study aims to describe and determine the breakdown level of the V Groove welding results of students in Shielded Metal Arc Welding practice in the 3G (Vertical Up) position based on the American Welding Society standards. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research approach to describe the quality of the welding results. The collecting data in this study uses a visual assessment checklist based on AWS standards. The research conduct in a fabrication workshop at, Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University. The data analysis technique was done by visually assessing students' welding results and averaging them then describing them. The number of samples from this study were all training participants totaling 18 students. The results of this study indicate that: overall, the pass rate of students in welding the V groove connection in the 3G position SMAW practice is still meager, from a total of 18 students, none of them passed. Most students did not pass welding in the irregular bead, free from arc stray and spatter, undercut material, weld profile, and crater cross-section. The cause of student failures is due to a lack of understanding of how to avoid welding defects.

Facility standards of vocational schools: comparison of existing and modern facility designs
2019
The objective of this study is to compare the facility designs of existing and modern learning environment for vocational schools in accordance with 21st century learning. We begin the study with a comprehensive study on vocational schools that reflects the current condition and best practices. The next step is a comprehensive study of administrative documents and facility specifications needed to support vocational school graduates. Data and information in this study are analyzed and presented using a qualitative-descriptive approach. The method of analysis is carried out in three stages. The first stage is identifying the existing data in the field. The second step is to find the problems that become obstacles to the fulfillment of facilities in accordance with 4.0 industrial revolution. The third stage is to do an analysis between the current and modern conditions of the facilities in vocational schools. The locations chosen for the survey activities include East Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta. This study finds that the existing facilities in vocational schools are lacking and also concerning. This needs proper attention and handling such that these school facilities may be transformed into modern facilities.

Comparative study on animal and vegetable fat as effective palate cleanser of spiciness
2021
Fat based palate cleanser used to overcome spicy intensity on the tongue papillae TRPV1 receptor. In this study, the effectiveness of milk as an animal fat-based palate cleanser was compared to vegetable fat based palate cleansers such as coconut milk and soymilk. Temporal dominance of sensations (TDS) was applied to monitor the effectiveness of palate cleanser (milk, coconut milk, and soy milk) on three different concentrations of chili powder (0.2%; 0.4%, and 0.6%). The study involved 12 intensively trained panellists. It was observed that coconut milk tended to be more effective than those of milk and soy milk in 0.2% and 0.4% chili powder concentration (P-value < 0.05). Further confirmation suggests that at a lower concentration of spiciness, protein involves cleansing sensation, while at higher concentration, it is more dominant by fat in conjunction with protein contribution.

Cryptic absence and genetic variation of Plasmodium falciparum PfHRP2 and PfHRP3 from isolates in Papua, Indonesia
2025
The rising prevalence of histidine-rich protein 2 (PfHRP2) gene deletions (
pfhrp2
-) poses a threat to the accuracy of PfHRP2-based rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs). However, evidence of this deletion is scarce in Indonesia. We examined the prevalence of
pfhrp2
and its paralogue histidine-rich protein 3 (PfHRP3) gene deletions (
pfhrp3
-) in blood samples collected from a study assessing three PfHRP2-based RDTs conducted between December 2022 and April 2023 in Timika, Papua. Out of 2157 symptomatic-patients enrolled, 566
P. falciparum
mono-infection cases were included for
pfhrp2/3
exon 2 genotyping. We detected nine samples (1.59%, 95% CI 0.73–3.00%) with
pfhrp2-/pfhrp3-,
of which eight were PfHRP2-RDTs positive. Of three
pfhrp2-
samples (0.53%, 95% CI 0.11–1.54%), one was PfHRP2-RDTs positive. In contrast, 201 samples (35.51%, 95% CI 31.57–39.61%) had
pfhrp3-
, five of which were
pfhrp2
+ but PfHRP2-RDT negative; however, four exhibited low parasitemia. Five PfHRP2-RDTs negative samples with
pfhrp2
+
/pfhrp3
+ were sequenced alongside two
pfhrp2
+ with PfHRP2-RDTs positive samples. We found more repeat-type variations in
pfhrp2
compared to
pfhrp3
. Seven unique repeat types in
pfhrp2
and one unique repeat type in
pfhrp3
amino acid sequences were characterized in single or multiple copies per sample. These results demonstrated the low prevalence of
pfhrp2-
2.12% (95% CI 1.10–3.67%) suggesting PfHRP2-based RDTs remain suitable for malaria diagnosis in Timika, Papua, Indonesia.
