Practical Guidelines to Legal Writing for Young Researchers and Professionals
Research about the law requires a degree of mastery of both the existing knowledge about the topic of research and the necessary methodological tool-kit to communicate the analysis and the findings to the targeted audience. This paper aims to provide young researchers and professionals in law with a step-by-step guide to write different types of legal writings. This research starts from the assumption that well situating the topic of the research within an appropriate context and adopting an adapted analysis condition a cogent structure that reflects the degree of consistency between the research gap and the aim of the research, on the one hand, and the findings and the recommendations, on the other.
Using Gamification in EFL Vocabulary Learning and Learners' Attitudes toward Gamification Use
Although gamification is one of the latest education trends, it has not been investigated adequately in the Egyptian EFL context. Hence, this mixed-method study aimed to explore the effect of using gamification on Egyptian EFL learners' vocabulary knowledge and their attitudes toward gamification use. The study followed a pre-posttest quasi-experimental research design. A total of 68 English Majors in the Faculty of Education at New Valley University participated in this study. The instruments included a vocabulary test (APTIS), an attitude questionnaire (designed by the researcher), learning logs and follow-up interviews. The experimental group used Quizizz, whereas the control group used paper-based sheets. After a seven-week treatment period, the participants were post-tested. The results showed significantly increased vocabulary knowledge of the experimental group in the APTIS test compared to the control group. The effect size of the treatment was remarkable (Cohen's d = 1.8). The questionnaire and interview data indicated positive attitudes toward the use of gamification in learning vocabulary. The interviewees found gamification more exciting and enjoyable than traditional learning methods. However, they experienced some challenges in internet access. In this study, gamification was deemed effective in enhancing EFL learners' vocabulary knowledge. Gamification efficiency may be due to its challenging and motivating nature in adding inspiring gaming elements to traditional learning. This study recommends the use of gamification as a useful and motivating tool for enhancing lexicon competence.
The Role of Social Media Campaigns in Supporting the SDG of Women's Empowerment
This study explores the role of social media campaigns in supporting Sustainable Development Goal 5, which focuses on women's empowerment, through an empirical and analytical investigation of campaigns addressing women's issues in Egypt and the Arab region. A descriptive-analytical method was applied, utilizing surveys, interviews, and content analysis of campaigns conducted on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Findings reveal that digital campaigns contributed significantly to raising awareness about gender equality, promoting women's rights, and stimulating public debate on sensitive issues such as domestic violence and harassment. Results also show that the most effective campaigns combined impactful visual messages with interactive content that encouraged women's direct participation. The study highlights that young people, particularly those aged 18 to 30, were the most engaged with these campaigns, with women showing greater responsiveness than men. Additionally, campaigns supported by NGOs and international organizations achieved wider reach and stronger impact compared to individual initiatives. However, the study also identified challenges, including the short-lived influence of some campaigns and the difficulty of translating online engagement into tangible policy changes or shifts in social behavior. The research concludes that social media campaigns are powerful tools for advancing women's empowerment but require more sustainable strategies and closer integration with governmental and legislative efforts to secure lasting outcomes. Implementing Dynamic Branding Categories for Designing Cultural Brands Logo
Time has had a great effect on the brand's visual appearance, most brands tend to have logo changes to cope with the vast changes in the market and hence fulfilling the consumer's needs. The brand evolution has become a common demand in a lot of fields, to stay tuned with the consumer changes and to always sustain the visual appeal to attract their consumers along with prospected ones. Thus, the brands lean to change their logo over the years (once or even many times). The cultural and social brand has tended to change their logos to meet the consumer taste. A new approach has been practiced to overcome this obstacle which is dynamic branding. Dynamic branding has opened the room for the brands to stay alive and always be changing. They presented a whole new system for designers to consider how their logo can stay flexible and variant over time. The dynamic branding allows the designer to experiment with a lot of options to accomplish the best choice for their brand to benefit from the persistent update. Consequently, staying up to date with the market and give the brand a vibrant appeal. Therefore, the researcher believes that the dynamic branding should spread more in the design field especially in the cultural and social field to accommodate the brands' need to stay alive and moving with the consumer progression.
A Linguistic Analysis for Coherence in the Quranic Text
Appropriateness must be preserved in any acceptable text to achieve logical connectivity and textuality. Based on the notion of 'logical coherence' advocated by Levy (2003) and our criteria of continuity of thought and lexical cohesion, one can analyze Quranic text in terms of appropriateness, continuity of thought, and lexical cohesion. Appropriateness is a prototypical Quranic discourse property which is based upon linear thematic connection both intrasententially (within a sentence) and intersententially (between sentences). Quranic discourse displays a number of techniques through which the text accomplishes appropriateness. Some of such techniques are specific to Quranic Arabic. A number of sceptic researchers claim that the ayahs of the Quranic text are randomly assembled and bear no logical connection to the surrounding ones (e.g. Ohlander, 2005; Paret, 2010). This baseless claim assumes that the Quranic text lacks appropriateness, thematic unity, and an underlying logical structure. The present paper, hence, is an attempt to counterargument such claims through providing discussions on how the Quranic text achieves appropriateness through proper employment of grammatical constructions, accurate selection of lexical items, and thematically connect sentences and surahs. More precisely, I follow a text-specific-properties method to argue for how coherence and appropriateness are achieved in the text. In addition, following Beau Grande and Dressler's (1981:20) argument that textual and discourse appropriateness leads to the continuity of thought, this paper examines how appropriateness is hinged upon the textual fact of continuity of thought through investigating sequentially and connectivity of senses at a word level, sentence level, or at a larger running text.
Wingsuit Design Technology in the Framework of Functional Requirements
As always, everything in our lives is subject to change and rapid development. If I told you that you can fly in the air as you wish like a bird, you would not believe me, but it is the truth. With scientific research and technological applications, a trained person can now do that with a risk ratio, that's why this sport is classified under what it is called extreme sports, but what we are working on now is laying the scientific foundations and using modern technological applications and advanced textiles that put the wingsuit in another level of safety and ease of use; Do you worry about flying squirrel from falling!! This research deals with all aspects involved in designing the wingsuit in terms starting from the physical technique of flying the suit, which is based on aerodynamics; And theories responsible for flying aircraft and its gliding, to the various functional designs of the suit and the textiles used in manufacture. The research also includes aspects of technology used in testing and manufacturing. Accordingly, it is considered the cornerstone in Egypt and the Middle East for such functional clothing that can contribute creating a boom in the sport and military field, also it paves the way for researchers to enter this area, which rarely finds anyone who offers to work on it because it contains many specialized scientific branches that must be merged to produce this product \"wing suit\".
