Our article addresses food as a social phenomenon with cultural, material, and symbolic dimensions. Its necessity extends beyond the biological aspect, carrying meanings that affirm it as a social product and a cultural construct. Food represents one of the characteristics of society that undergoes change across various dimensions. The changes explored in our study pertain to culinary habits, including the preparation of dishes and their connection to traditional heritage on one hand, and modern trends and development on the other. Additionally, we examine shifts in meal times, dining etiquette, and the act of sharing meals, all of which are influenced by contemporary lifestyles shaped by the practices of modernization. Finally, we explore the evolving role of food as a communicative system that strengthens, repairs, and shapes social relationships.

The contemporary mode of living constitutes a profound political and ethical challenge, and a philosophical approach that critically examines this way of life is certainly deserving of attention. To rethink social bonds or explore the possible conditions for coexistence is, at its core, a reflection on the authenticity of our behaviors and whether these behaviors and practices embody the true art of living together. Fathi triki insists that coexistence is not a matter of choice or luxury, but rather a necessary condition for the creation of sound and just societies. However, if coexistence and solidarity are vital necessities between nations, how does Triki's philosophy grapple with the apparent contradiction between the aspiration for coexistence and the harsh reality of war and conflict and what philosophical mechanisms does Triki propose as a foundation for a rational and coherent vision that bridges coexistence and peace?

This study examines how the openings and closings of talk are linguistically structured in Arabic-language podcasts in Saudi Arabia, namely in the Waddah podcast. Based on Conversation Analysis (CA) and cultural pragmatics, this study investigates how hosts open and close podcast episodes in line with Saudi Islamic culture, language practice, and social relations. Ten podcast episodes were translated and analysed in English and Arabic. The results evidence ritualised patterns of communication with religious terms, formal greetings, praise to guests, and group farewells. Terms that are in general usage, such as 'Bismillah', 'Marhaban alf' and 'Fi Aman Allah,' not only mark divisions of speech, but also express deeper cultural values such as spiritual purpose, host cordiality and community bonding. The study revealed that Saudi podcast openings and closings are not only concerned with turn-taking, but are also concerned with occupying moral positions, constructing audience identification, and promoting social bonding. The study adds to the paucity of research on Arabic digital communication and advances CA theory by its deployment in non-Western, culturally rich contexts.

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل العلاقة بين معايير اختيار شريك الحياة ومخاطر الطلاق الصامت لدى الشباب المقبلين على الزواج، من خلال تطبيق استبيان على (208) من المشاركين في برنامج \"مودة\" بالمعهد العالي للخدمة الاجتماعية بينها؛ اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتناولت ستة أبعاد لمعايير اختيار الشريك (الجسدي، الاقتصادي، النفسي والانفعالي، الاجتماعي، الديني، الفكري والثقافي)، وثلاثة أبعاد لمخاطر الطلاق الصامت (الاجتماعية، النفسية، التقنية). أظهرت النتائج ارتفاع مستوى معايير الاختيار (المتوسط = 2.60) ومخاطر الطلاق الصامت (المتوسط = 2.50)، مع ترتيب البعد الجسدي أولا في معايير الاختيار، والمخاطر الاجتماعية أولا في مخاطر الطلاق الصامت. توصلت النتائج إلى وجود علاقة عكسية دالة إحصائيا بين معايير الاختيار ومخاطر الطلاق الصامت (معامل ارتباط = -0.525، دلالة 0.01)؛ حيث تبين أن البعد الاقتصادي كان الأكثر تأثيرا في تقليل المخاطر، يليه الفكري والثقافي، ثم الديني؛ كما وجدت فروق دالة بين الذكور والإناث لصالح الإناث في تقييم معايير الاختيار، ولصالح الإناث أيضا في تقدير مخاطر الطلاق الصامت؛ وتوصلت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن هناك علاقة عكسية دالة إحصائيا بين معايير اختيار شريك الحياة ومخاطر الطلاق الصامت للشباب المقبلين على الزواج؛ أوصت الدراسة بتضمين برامج الإعداد للزواج وحدات متخصصة في معايير الاختيار وأثرها على الاستقرار الزواجي. تؤكد النتائج أن الاختيار الواعي للشريك يمثل أداة وقائية مهمة للحد من الطلاق الصامت وتعزيز استقرار الحياة الأسرية.

The human settlement can be considered as a specific historical creation; it has not always existed however appeared at a certain moment in the societies evolution, and can disappear, or be radically changed at another moment. The anthropology of space is interested in the representation, production and social use of human space, just like the cognitive sciences. In this regard, we attempt over this study to analyze the anthropology of Saharan human settlement (The Valley of Mzab). The results reveal that social ties and human needs are determining factors in the morphology of Saharan human settlements.

عندما يتكرر تفاعل الأفراد من ذوي الدوافع والأهداف المشتركة لمدة زمنية معينة، يبدأ هنا تكوين بناء الجماعة، وما يتضمنه من أدوار ومراكز هرمية في الظهور، واتخاذ شكل معين خاص، فيصبح على درجة كبيرة من الثبات والاستقرار، فالجماعة غير الرسمية تنشأ عن طريق تواصل واستمرار بناءها الداخلي وهدفها المشترك، وهذا ما يخلق نوعا من الثقة بين الفاعلين الاجتماعيين غير الرسميين، حيث هذه الثقة تلزمهم بتطبيق قواعد عرفية يسيرون عليها، كما تضبط أيضا هؤلاء الفاعلين على احترام المعايير والمبادئ المتعارف عليها.

تكمن أهمية البحث في حاجة المجتمع إلى تمثل هذه القيم في حياته اليومية، ويهدف البحث إلى بيان دور السيرة النبوية في تعزيز القيم الإسلامية المتعلقة بالآداب الاجتماعية، واعتمد البحث على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي القائم على الاستقراء، وتم تقسيم البحث إلى مقدمة ومبحثين وخاتمة. تضمنت المقدمة أهمية البحث وأهدافه، ومنهج البحث وتقسيماته، وجاء المبحث الأول تحت عنوان: دور السيرة النبوية في تعزيز القيم الإسلامية، وجاء المبحث الثاني تحت عنوان: تعزيز القيم المتعلقة بالآداب الاجتماعية من خلال السيرة النبوية، وتضمنت الخاتمة أهم النتائج التي توصل إليها البحث والتي من أهمها: أن للسيرة النبوية دور كبير في تعزيز القيم الإسلامية المتعلقة بالآداب الاجتماعية والتي منها: قيمة حسن الظن بالناس، وقيمة صلة الرحم، وقيمة رعاية الجار، وقيمة توقير الكبير.

تبحث هذه الدراسة في مشاكل التكيف الاجتماعي التي يواجهها الأطفال في البيئة المدرسية. يجلب الانتقال إلى بيئة مدرسية جديدة العديد من التحديات للأطفال، مثل إقامة الروابط الاجتماعية، وإدارة العلاقات مع الأقران، والتكيف مع الديناميكيات الاجتماعية غير المألوفة. وتعترف مناهج الإرشاد الاجتماعي بأهمية العوامل الاجتماعية والأسرية في عملية تكيف الطفل وتوفر دعماً محدداً لتطوير مهارات الطفل الاجتماعية وذكائه العاطفي ومهارات التواصل والقدرة على فهم المواقف الاجتماعية. يركز هذا البحث على العناصر النظرية الرئيسة لنهج الإرشاد الاجتماعي، بما في ذلك تهيئة بيئة آمنة وداعمة من خلال التواصل مع الأسر، وتعزيز الوعي الذاتي والتعاطف، وتطوير مهارات التواصل الفعال ومهارات حل النزاعات. كما يسلط البحث الضوء على تفاعل نهج الإرشاد الاجتماعي مع الخصائص الشخصية للطفل وخصائص البيئة الأسرية وتاريخ الحياة، ويشير إلى أن كل طفل فريد من نوعه ويمكن أخذ عوامل مثل الانطواء والانبساط واحترام الذات والمهارات الاجتماعية في الاعتبار لمعالجة تحديات محددة والبناء على نقاط القوة لدى كل طفل. ويؤكد على الحاجة إلى مرشدين اجتماعيين ونفسيين يمكنهم تكييف التدخلات لتناسب كل طفل بشكل عام، يسلط هذا البحث الضوء على الدور الأساسي لنهج الإرشاد الاجتماعي في معالجة مشكلة التكيف الاجتماعي للأطفال في المدارس. ومن خلال التركيز على تنمية المهارات الاجتماعية والكفاءة العاطفية والاندماج، يمكن خلق بيئة مدرسية إيجابية وتعاونية تؤدي إلى نمو الأطفال ونجاحهم بشكل عام.

Discourse markers play an important role in the coherence of discourse and facilitate communication. It has been also argued that EFL students need not only the grammatical competence but also discourse knowledge to be able to effectively maintain a conversation. Therefore, the present study investigates the use and functions of discourse markers as used by EFL students at Faculty of Social Sciences in Kuwait. It also aims to investigate the differences between high and low proficient learners in using such discourse markers. The study adopts the Fung and Carter's (2007) model in which the discourse markers are classified into four categories, namely, interpersonal, structural, inferential and cognitive. It also employs a mixed method design in which both qualitative and quantitative approaches are adopted for data collection and analysis. The population of the study includes the intermediate level students studying English as a foreign language at Faculty of Social Sciences, Kuwait University. The sample of the study includes 32 high and low proficient students. The students were selected from the whole population based on their scores in the presentation component which is considered a speaking test. Then, only the conversations performed by the sample were analyzed in terms of the use of discourse markers. An informal interview was also conducted with five students after the quantitative data had been obtained. The findings revealed that the most frequently used discourse markers are the interpersonal discourse markers while the least frequent ones are the referential discourse markers. It is also found that the structural and cognitive discourse markers registered the second and the third, respectively. It is also found that the high proficient learners outperformed the low proficient learners in terms of the use of discourse markers. This suggests that there could be an association between the use of discourse markers and proficiency in speaking. Furthermore, it is shown that discourse markers are used to perform different functions, and this contributes to the coherent and pragmatic flow of conversations. However, the use of discourse markers by the participants was very limited. Therefore, the study recommends that discourse markers should be incorporated in the curricula of speaking and should be also considered by teachers during the process of teaching the speaking skill to EFL university students.
