Bob, host of Underwater World with Bob, is furious with Shark, not only because Shark ate him (admittedly bad manners), but because Shark will not even admit what he did; the ocean may not be big enough for both of them--unless Shark faces up to his bad behavior, stops sulking (and eating the animals on the program, and maybe barfing up his stomach) and apologizes.

The apology
\"This book, The Apology, written by Eve from her father's point of view in the words she longed to hear attempts to transform the abuse she suffered, with unflinching truthfulness, compassion, and a expansive vision for the future. Through The Apology Eve has set out to provide a new way for herself and a possible road for others, so that survivors of abuse may finally imagine how to be free. In it, she grapples with questions she has sought answers to since she began to understand the impact of her father's abuse on her life: How do we offer a doorway rather than only a locked cell? How do move from humiliation to revelation, from curtailing behavior to changing it, from condemning perpetrators to calling them to reckoning? The Apology is a remarkably original book that explores the deepest and most intimate questions that can be asked at this moment: Why do men carry out abuse, often against the people they know and love the most? How can we--together--stop it? What does it mean to apologize for these acts? What will it take for the men who have committed abuse to make a deep reckoning and actually apologize? As Tony Porter from A Call to Men says, \"We've called men out, now how do we call them in?\" The Apology is an acutely transformational book--about how, from the wounds of sexual abuse, we can begin to re-emerge and heal. It is a revolutionary book asking everything of each of us: courage, truthfulness, and forgiveness\" -- Provided by publisher.

MIS MÁS \SINCERAS\ DISCULPAS: ANÁLISIS DEL PARÁMETRO DE SINCERIDAD EN LAS DISCULPAS PÚBLICAS
2025

by
BADESCU, SANDA
in
Apologies
2024
Although Renaissance thought did not explore the question of animal intelligence either thoroughly or often, Michel de Montaigne’s essay, The Apology of Raymond Sebond, with its original analysis of this topic, represents an exception as surprising today as it was for readers of the time. In dismantling the belief—already well established in the sixteenth century—that human beings possess reason and absolute truth, Montaigne demonstrates that they are not as wise as they presume to be and that animals are not as dumb and senseless as we like to think. He thus succeeds in relativizing the established hierarchy between the two categories of creatures, which appear situated on a continuum rather than divided by a strict separation.

My Fall Leaves and the Wind
2023
New-fallen leaves were His weeds of autumn. How could my rake and walk-behind, Hand-push mower Keep up with his Industrial-scale sacrament? I lift my head, look toward him, And offer sincere apology In behalf of my trees, My leaves, and my neglect. [...]if only I could find a machine That could chew, pulverize, And spit out tiny leaf fragments, So that my pestilent leaves would fly Everywhere and nowhere, Become property of the wind, Gently settle on lawns, And nourish the soil As flakes of nearly invisible dust.

La otra historia de las mujeres afromexicanas
2019
