Team Cancer Crushers relay in memory of Marianne
by
Lennie, Laura
in
Bowman, Rob
2010
\"I couldn't even tell you what multiple myeloma was at that time,\" said [Rob Bowman]. \"There was a whole educational process to it. [Marianne] kept saying, 'There has to be more awareness about this. Not just for me, but for others.'\" \"Marianne slipped into a seizure the next morning around 8:30 a. m.,\" said Rob. \"We called 911. She was on a gurney outside, eyes open, breathing, tears in her eyes. You kind of hope they go peacefully, she went with a little bit of a struggle, so she was still fighting,\" he added, as he started to get choked up. \"They took her to Henderson, where she was pronounced dead. She never stopped fighting...to her last day.\" \"The fact is Marianne's not here, that pain never goes away,\" he said. \"My 11-year-old son, Parker, said it best when he said, 'We're doing this for mom and for each other.' We want to show her and other people that they're not forgotten because they're gone. Marianne never quit at anything she did. Her fighting spirit will never be forgotten.\"

2008
Want to do your bit to reduce global warming? Then sign up to British Gas's heating maintenance service, buy in a store of woollies and prepare for a long, cold winter. Rob Bowman recently completed an eco-friendly four weeks without heating or hot water after his gas boiler broke down. Over the years he had spent hundreds of pounds paying into British Gas's Homecare 200 policy which promises to fix heating equipment and to provide emergency care if things go wrong. Eight out of 10 customers receive same-day service, the policy declares, and most of the remaining 20% should expect a friendly saviour by the following day.
