Building Integrated Connections for Children, their Families and Communities
2011
Research and practice shows that many vulnerable children and families face more than one challenge and require more than one intervention. However our service system has evolved historically to deal with one thing at a time or to provide services from multiple sources. This lack of integration can have a devastating effect on some families where key information or warning signs are missed. Coronial and judicial inquiries constantly stress the negative impact of a siloed approach to service.

Bold choices
2003
Influenced by the color combinations, folk art and the attitudes toward life and death there, [BRYCE CLARK] chose similar vivid colors and decided to display his collections of Mexican folk art, religious art from the mid-1900s and funerary art throughout his apartment near Brady St. Patrons of his popular Brady St. restaurant, Cempazuchi, often admire a similar atmosphere there. (The name Cempazuchi comes from the Aztec word for marigold, a favorite flower for the Day of the Dead or All Souls' Day, Clark said.) In a niche between the front bedroom and bath, some of the most interesting examples of folk art are arranged on shelves. Here are sugar skulls, made the day before the Day of the Dead, as well as skeletons that are so much a part of that day's celebration. At Oaxaca markets, Clark even found some skeletons dressed up like Barbie dolls or perhaps like tourists.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL - WEEK 6
2014
\"They're a good football team, said [Jon Carpenter]. \"They're just tough. It wasn't a track meet tonight, they just whipped us up front. They're a big school, they've got everything they need to be good. I think they played in the state championship game last year, so it's not like they're not talented. Huntington finally lit up the scoreboard with 5:26 left in the third quarter when Wilson fumbled on another fourth-and-goal attempt from inside the Cougars' 1. Wilson's bobble was covered by Highlanders senior lineman Shamar Ingram, who toted it 1 yard into the end zone to help notch the score at 7 apiece. \"I'm in no way disappointed in our effort, said [Seals]. \"I'm disappointed in the outcome because we felt like we played our butts off tonight. We had an opportunity to win and special team kind of gave them all the momentum again. [Capital's] a hell of a football team.

A High Heart-Rate Day; Eating out is what Valentine's Day is all about, restaurateurs say
2006
Bartolotta's upscale restaurants including Bacchus, the Lake Park Bistro, Mr. B's Steakhouse and Ristorante Bartolotta in Wauwatosa and Milwaukee will be busy tonight as well as on the holiday on Tuesday, [John Wise] said. When Valentine's Day falls on a weekday, the Saturday before is often the busiest for restaurants, said Wise and other restaurant operators. Some restaurants that serve Sunday brunch also will get a boost because of Valentine's Day. Some business likely will spill over into next weekend, too. Ann's Italian Restaurant in Hales Corners will serve lobster ravioli and heart-shaped raspberry cheesecake for their Valentine special, said manager Justin Giersch. The cozy eatery was mostly booked for tonight and Valentine's Day by midweek.

Top tequila no longer sitting on the shelf
2000
Blue agave, a stiff, spiny-leafed plant that grows to more than 6 feet tall, is the raw material of tequila. A shortage of agave combined with the brisk business has given prices a jolt. One Milwaukee retailer complained that the cost of tequila has risen by about 75% since last December, with more increases on the horizon. Anejo tequila is aged in wood for a minimum of 12 months, with Don Julio spending almost two years in barrels. Because it takes on a richer taste and amber color, anejo tequila is sometimes likened to brandy or cognac, and is often served in a snifter either straight up or over ice. Blanco or silver tequila is unaged, and is the firepower of most margaritas. Some producers, like Don Julio, use 100% agave and others do not. All tequila must come from the officially delineated region of Tequila in Mexico's state of Jalisco.
