\"They look very similar,\" said Bill Wiemuth, a spokesman for the Delta Queen Steamboat Co., who has spent nights on the Queen and its brother, the Delta King. \"They were built as identical twins.\" \"When we first opened, we had quite a few people who had ridden the boat and people who were on the boat in the war tell us their stories,\" said Charlie Coyne, general manager of the Delta King. While Mr. Coyne and the Queen's project manager, Chattanoogan Harry Phillips said there are plenty of differences between the two situations. Mr. Phillips said local residents can learn a little about the Queen's potential by looking at the King's success. Mike Testa, vice president of communications and public affairs for the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau, called the boat a \"jewel\" and said its event facilities remain popular with locals and conventioneers while tourists flock to the staterooms.

DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR, OR OVERHEAR
Snide, Cruel and Funny: About had it with those smarmy bumper stickers that boast, \"My child is an honor student at Such-and-Such a school.\" You'll like the one I spotted on a Chevy heading down Howell Branch Road in Maitland the other day: \"My kid just beat up your honor student.\"

PREDICTION: Funding will pick up for local startup firms, with software makers Revionics and Ignite Logic and wireless innovator TotalMass among those raking in dollars. PREDICTION: Swedish retailer IKEA will announce plans for its first Sacramento-area store -- in Natomas. REALITY: And how. First, in March, upstart carrier JetBlue Airways began offering service between Sacramento and New York. It added service to Washington, D.C., in May, the same month that Continental started Sacramento-Newark, N.J., flights. Then, in June, United jumped in with its own Sacramento-D.C. service.

While No. 7 Notre Dame (6-2) is already bowl eligible, Navy (5-3) needs one more victory to become eligible to play in a bowl for a third straight year -- a feat the Midshipmen have never accomplished before. If they are going to become bowl eligible this week, though, they are going to have to end a 41-game losing streak to Notre Dame, the longest such streak in NCAA history. The difference between the teams, though, is that while Navy needs just one win over Notre Dame, Temple (0-10) or Army (2-6) to become bowl eligible, the Irish can't afford to lose against Navy, Syracuse (1-7) or Stanford (4-4) and still receive a BCS berth and its $14 million-plus payout.
