Northern forces the issue defeating LCCVI in OT
2002
The 18-year-old defenceman became yesterday's hero when he scored five minutes into overtime and led Northern Vikings to a 3-2 victory over a physically larger Lambton Central Lancers squad in Lambton Secondary Schools Athletic Association hockey championship action, Friday afternoon at the Greenwood Recreation Centre. The Lancers had some tough luck when a sticking penalty towards Northern's goalie with 38 seconds left in overtime resulted in a player ejection and a five-minute major. The Lancers killed off the major but only moments later, [Greg Cresswell] scored the game winner and was mobbed by his jubilant teammates. Northern posted a 3- 2 overtime victory to force a third and deciding game on Monday. ;
