The saffron wave
2001,1999
\"The Saffron Wave is an analytically incisive and insightful exploration of one of the most important social movements to have swept postcolonial India. The book is remarkable not only for the historical depth it lends to our understanding of Hindu nationalism but also for the insights it affords contemporary politics in India.\"--Akhil Gupta, Stanford University
SIUE STUDENT RESEARCHES WHY SO MANY LOVE TO HATE \CLIPPY\
2003
Clippy is one of those characters you love to hate, and Nisha Dharna thinks she has figured out why: He's just not human enough. \"I used him sometimes and he would frustrate me,\" Dharna said. Most of the other people she asked about him didn't much like him either. They weren't the only ones. A sheaf of Web sites that mock and deride him, call him a terrorist, even call for his death attests to widespread anti-Clippy sentiment. Clippy refuses to take his fate silently. On a Microsoft Web site, he says he got demoted because the new software made office assistants like him useless. \"Obsolete,\" he says. \"And, I'm told, hideously unattractive.\" He announces he's looking for a job and invites viewers to decide which he's best suited for: president of the United States, chef, lock pick, lead singer for a metal band or paper clip.

Simple plot went disastrously wrong
2002
It would take two months of exhaustive investigative work by Det Sgt Graham Sproson, and Det Con's Inderjit Basra and John Balkhan before ringleader David Dharna was arrested. A search of the suspects' mobile phones showed calls between Dharna and a third man were made on the days before and after the offence. Dharna also called [Martin Prenga] and his number was installed on [Rifat Brahimi]'s phone. Dharna, of Thornhill Road, Handsworth, was last month jailed for seven years while Brahimi and Prenga, both of Richmond Hill, Smethwick, each received five years.
