\Allí sale gritando la guitarra morisca\: Nueva aproximación a una enumeración de instrumentos en el Libro de buen amor
Through the study of medieval iconography in Europe and modern studies on musicology, we can demonstrate that the Archpriest of Hita was aware of the music of his time, its circumstances, conventions and performance, particularly as it was understood by the jongleurs. We will focus on a section of seven stanzas subjected to different kinds of literary and musicological analysis. We will go beyond the traditional approach, which emphasizes the description and comparison between instruments, enriching it with that of their combinations within instrumental groups, the hierarchy that existed among them, and how they were conceived in the Middle Ages. Resident calls for protection of \majestic\ Albino moose
She said she's seen white moose before - stuffed specimens in Fort Nelson and Grande Prairie, Alta. - and wants to make sure the Fort St. John animal doesn't suffer the same fate. \"She's a special creature. They say it's a freak of nature, but she's incredibly rare and seems healthy enough.\" \"Old-timers say a long time ago that if you see a white moose you don't shoot them,\" said Tommy Attachie, a band elder. \"If you shoot the white moose, all around the area there will be no moose.\" \"Just because it looks cool doesn't mean it's a great service for the population,\" said the executive director of wildlife Conservation Society Canada, Justina Ray. \"You want to make sure . . . you're not bringing something inadvertently negative on a population.\"
Elk Grove family finds some hope
A few weeks later, a couple from Hawthorn Woods donated a wheelchair-accessible van to the family, saying they were inspired to do so after reading a Daily Herald article telling the [Joan Evans]' story. Since then others have continued to reach out to the family, including the Elk Grove Lions Club, which presented them with a $2,500 check last month.

Join the Lake-to-Prairie Chapter of Wild Ones on Jan. 3 for a step back in time as Ed Collins uses historic archives and botanical intuition to understand what has transpired across the landscape of northeastern Illinois over the past 10,000 years. Collins, head of the natural resource management department for the McHenry County Conservation District, will discuss the forensic ecology of the region at the group's meeting from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. at the Wauconda Area Library, 801 N. Main St., Wauconda. Visitors will get an understanding of the ecological landscape and how tracing that history can help create richer prairie, woodland and wetland restoration projects.
