[Al Kisner] said someone stole a 1982 Chevrolet pickup truck, owned by Daniel Horton, from Horton's residence at 11 Agronomy Farm Road.Horton told police that he had left his truck unlocked that evening with the keys in it.\"Sometime early that morning, one of our deputies observed the pickup truck pull out of Bugsy's and travel south at a high rate of speed on Point Marion Road,\" Kisner said.Kisner said he did not know how fast the suspect was driving.Deputy Roger Gidley attempted to pull the truck over, but the driver did not stop.

Dirt-bike accident kills teen

The accident occurred at about noon on a ridge near Blue Goose Road, said Chief Deputy Al Kisner, of the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department. A HealthNet helicopter landed nearby on the ridge, [Bob Brookover] said. Mon EMS also was at the scene, a MECCA 911 dispatcher said. She didn't know who transported the victims. The Brave (Pa.) VFD also came, Brookover said.

Dec. 25--Monongalia County Sheriff's Department needs your help keeping the streets safe.The sheriff's deputy reserve unit is recruiting new members to beef up its shrinking roster.The reserves are completely volunteer. Members must be at least 21, pass a background check and commit to volunteering at least 16 hours a month. No law enforcement experience is required.The reserves assist the sheriff's department by serving as funeral escorts, working traffic details, transporting mental hygiene patients to local hospitals, helping stranded motorists, etc.This extra help frees up sheriff's deputies to perform other tasks, like patrolling the streets, making arrests and conducting investigations.It adds up to hundreds of hours a month. In November, the fivemember-force logged 290 hours.

Woman shot in the foot by son recovers

Trinka Lynn Knight, 33, of 19 Healthy Heights, was injured after her son found a .410 bore shotgun underneath her bed and shot her in the foot inside their trailer, said Al Kisner, Chief Deputy with the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department. During a 911 call to MECCA, Knight told a dispatcher that she keeps the .410 bore shotgun \"under her bed and that her son had found it.\" Monongalia Emergency Medical Services transported Knight to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Ex-Monongalia deputy charged with sex abuse

Robert Fields, 29, of Morgantown was charged Friday with felony first-degree sexual abuse and released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. He also resigned, said Chief Deputy Al Kisner.
