Political parties kick it up a notch
2004
The merger of the Canadian Alliance and the Progressive Conservatives means one united Conservative Party that is hoping to do even better than the Alliance did in 2000, when it took 10 Saskatchewan seats. This will also be the first election campaign by [Jack Layton], who appears to have boosted the NDP's fortunes. The NDP's nomination meetings today are for Palliser and Regina Qu'Appelle, where incumbent MPs Dick Proctor and Lorne Nystrom are unchallenged. Two candidates -- Erin Weir and Kaitlin Stocks -- are facing off for the NDP's Wascana nomination. The Liberals will have at least two people vying for the nomination, including former NDP MLA Lindy Kasperski and Regina realtor Blair Herbert.

Local dance team hopes to continue wave of success in Atlantic City
2014
\"They clearly want to win and they all come to the studio ready to work and that really shows,\" said [Ginger Chen]. \"These girls don't just get up on stage and rely on a theme or a story or an elaborate prop to carry them through and capture the audience's attention. They rely on their technique and that is very strong and synchronized.\" \"There will be close to 2,000 routines and over 100 studios at this competition so it will certainly be a challenge, but I think we can do it,\" added Chen who points out that this isn't the first time they've been intimidated. \"We went to a really large competition in Toronto last year and as soon as we walked in they were terrified, but I told them to go out there and do their best and have fun and they danced beautifully that weekend.\" \"We've known each other for a really long time and that makes it easier for us to move together and Ginger works with us a lot to make sure we are all in sync and that really shows,\" said Isabelle Leeson who hopes to continue dancing in university. \"I am thinking of joining a dance team just because I am going to miss it. I know it won't be the same but I'm sure it will still be fun.\"

Local dance team hopes to continue wave of success in Atlantic City
2014
Gazette News - When Ginger Chen made the decision to leave the dance studio she was teaching at two years ago, she didn't expect anyone to follow her, but she quickly learned that she had impacted her students even more than she thought. \"She was the best teacher we'd ever had and we didn't want to let her go,\" explained Spencer Finn, a member of the Westwoods Dance Academy that Chen formed with five of her previous students. \"We've known each other for a really long time and that makes it easier for us to move together and Ginger works with us a lot to make sure we are all in sync and that really shows,\" said Isabelle Leeson who hopes to continue dancing in university. \"I am thinking of joining a dance team just because I am going to miss it. I know it won't be the same but I'm sure it will still be fun.\"

Evening Standard, London, City Spy column
2006
Jun. 23--ON TOP OF THE WELL-AIRED PROBLEMS with the new 200 million grandstand at Ascot, top-hatted and befrocked punters who dared to use the train have been humiliated this week. The normal gentle downhill stroll to the station is barred to London-bound passengers, who are sent off on a trek to the station car park. There hordes of barriers, all sponsored by BlueSq.com, snake passengers around in a long queue. Then comes a veritable army of police, South West Trains and MacLellan Attlaw Security jobsworths telling punters just where they may stand on the platform. It's more Berlin than Berks.
