Free advice proves invaluable
Uncle [Jim Meyers] used his pocket notebook to record just about everything he needed to remember every day. When he was Extension agent for Knox County, he used the notebook for \"remembering\" people, their questions, good ideas and accomplishments. He used it to write down the shopping list for the things his wife asked him to bring home from the store. He wrote down special events, birth dates and appointments so he could stay on top of things. He filled up a notebook a week back in his working days. Uncle Jim spent more than a nickel on a small spiral notebook that he gave to my husband, Mike, about 10 years ago. On that occasion, he passed along his old professor's advice, too. Mike found the notebook to be a handy helper and used it until it was full. He had to spend his own \"nickel\" on the next notebook. It had proved to be good free advice.
