Hunter seals Atlantic's win
2014
The win also gives Atlantic (7-2, 5-1) the distinction of becoming the second team to ever beat [Dwyer] (7-2, 5-1) in District 13-7A. The first? The Atlantic team of 2011. That lead gave the Eagles a bit of confidence when the defense faced [Daniel Parr] and Co. Parr, who entered Week 9 completing more than 60 percent of his passes, started 2-of-8 for 14 yards. The Eagles' athletic secondary was a reason why. Defensive backs like Hunter and junior Antoine Richardson, who has a Florida State offer, found ways to stick with the Panthers' receivers which has been a challenge for many secondaries this season. Dwyer's sluggish start compounded when Atlantic doubled the lead to 14-0. The Eagles, on fourth and goal from the 1, scored when E.J. Hernandez converted a quarterback sneak with 10:55 left in the second.

Dwyer keeps record clean in district play
2014
The victory improves Dwyer (7-1) to 5-0 atop the District 13-7A standings. The reigning Class 7A state champions have two key district games remaining -- against West Boca and Atlantic -- the next two weeks. Lake Worth's slim playoff hopes were extinguished with the loss, dropping the Trojans to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in the district. \"We've got some guys out [with injuries] but that's no excuse. They've got some athletes,\" [Jack Daniels] said. [Daniel Parr] struggled to find a rhythm passing the ball early, but connected with Dante Cousart on a 16-yard touchdown pass four minutes into the second quarter to give [Dwyer] a 7-0 lead. Cousart also had a 16-yard scoring reception in the third quarter.

2014
Rick Casko has returned to Glades Central to try to revitalize a storied Raiders program that is coming off its first losing season in two decades. Glades Central compiled a 34-4 record during Casko's first stint there from 1991-93, and he is the program's sixth head coach in 14 years. Glades Central will visit [Dwyer] in the marquee season opener on Aug. 29, but Palm Beach Central at Royal Palm Beach and Broward power Miramar's visit to Delray Beach to take on American Heritage are equally interesting matchups to kick off the season. The highlight games of Week 2 include Royal Palm Beach at Pahokee, Glades Central at Palm Beach Central and Palm Beach Gardens at Park Vista. The most anticipated game of the first month, however, will be in Week 3 when cross-town rivals Palm Beach Gardens and Dwyer hook horns on Sept. 12. American Heritage-Delray will travel to Glades Central that same Friday night.

LandSecs on wrong lines over CrossRail
in
Parr, Daniel
2010
IT seemed like a coup when Land Securities negotiated the \"Crossrail Levy\" for its ambitious plans to redevelop the 1.5 million sq ft Victoria Transport Interchange scheme down from Pounds 20 million to just Pounds 1.2 million. But now it appears it may still have been overcharged -- or worse.

QB candidates keep competition friendly: Owls football
2016
\"It's really important, especially at the quarterback position,\" [Jason Driskel] said after Tuesday's practice. \"If you don't want to be a leader, you're playing quarterback so you're going to be a leader. If the guys saw us not being friends, that would be horrible for our football team. That's not what this is about.\" \"The good thing about it is they both support each other,\" first-year offensive coordinator Travis Trickett said. \"Overall, the entire team, and coach [Charlie Partridge] has led the charge on this, it's really just next man up. It's bigger than just one guy. It's been very good to see, whoever's back there, to go out and do well. The key is not to get caught up in that.\" \"If you're not confident, it's over,\" Driskel said. \"All hope is lost if you're not confident. That's one thing you have to learn. One day I might come out here and look great. The next day, I might not look so hot but confidence should never waver.\"

Florida Atlantic football Driskel aware of QB challenge Competition will come from redshirt Parr
2016
\"I think competition is the best thing that you can have at any position,\" [Jason Driskel] said. \"It's just the quarterback gets the most attention. Competition makes everybody better. It's great for me, it's great for ([Daniel Parr]), to improve every day and that's the goal.\" \"He's a smart kid,\" [Travis Trickett] said of Driskel, \"but right now, it's an open competition. I told them that this battle is going to go all the way into fall camp. That's happening.\"

Class 8A-7A-6A Player of the Year Daniel Parr Dwyer junior
2013
\"It's kind of like watching one of your babies grow up,\" [Jack Daniels] said. \"You're looking at one of their videos and they're crawling, and the next one he's walking, and it's the same with [Daniel Parr]. He's progressed in leaps and bounds.\" Parr was the [Dwyer] junior varsity starting quarterback only a little more than a year ago before joining the varsity squad for the Panthers' final three games last season. He showed some flashes of promise in mop-up duty but also struggled at times. In other words, it wasn't like Parr was showing signs of being the next coming of former Dwyer standout Jacoby Brissett. \"It's been a bumpy ride at times,\" Daniels said of Parr's progression from a year ago. \"It's been beautiful what he's done.\"
