\"مقالة الطريقة تحسن قيادة العقل\" هو كتاب كتب أو ما كتب باللغة الفرنسية، جعله المؤلف في قسمين : أحدهما علمي والآخر فلسفي. أما القسم العلمي فكان قويا جدا، أما القسم الفلسفي فقد كان مشتملا على بعض ما ذهب إليه في علم ما بعد الطبيعة. وكان من السهل على العلماء المعاصرين لديكارت (المؤلف) أن ينتقدوا هذا القسم الأخير فردوا عليهم، وساقه ذلك إلى تأليف كتاب جديد باللغة اللاتينية ضمنه تأملاته الفلسفية، وهو كتاب \"التأملات\".
