صنف العلماء كتبا كثيرة فى الأدعية والأذكار منها ما ورد فى كتاب الله عز وجل ومنها ماجاء فى سنة المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم ومن هؤلاء العلماء ابن الامام صاحب كتاب سلاح المؤمن فى الدعاء والذكر الذى قال عنه ابن الجزرى فى غاية النهاية : وله كتاب سلاح المؤمن فى الأذكار، لم يؤلف مثله وهو كتاب مقسم الى 21 بابا تحت كل باب مجموعة من الأدعية والأذكار منها الصحيح والحسن والضعيف وهى تدور حول فضل الدعاء والأمر به والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وآداب الدعاء والأوقات والأحوال التى يمتاز فيها الدعاء على غيرها وأدعية الصباح والمساء والطهارة والصلاة والصيام والحج والجهاد والسفر والأكل والشرب والمرض والتعوذ والاستغفار.
